I took private art lessons with Anatol Woolf for 5 years from middle school through high school. He helped me develop and enrich my art skills through various mediums, such as pencil, colored pencil, water color, oil, and sculpture. Anatol played a pivotal role in helping me build my art portfolio to use to apply to architecture programs, where I was accepted early decision to Cornell University. In the beginning of my time working with Anatol, he took a more "hands-on" approach in teaching me, but he would still give me time to work through difficult problems alone before he stepped in. By the end of my 5 years with him, I was working completely independently, only using his aid when it was absolutely necessary. I recommend anyone of all skill levels to work with Anatol! I was a little worried about taking drawing lessons, because Anatol is obviously a very talented artist and I'm a rank beginner. However, I need not have been concerned! Anatol is everything you'd want in an instructor: patient, skilled, able to communicate and just plain nice. I was soon completely at ease. In addition, the studio is very pleasant, there's easy parking, the atmosphere is very professional and I'm actually having fun learning to draw. What's not to like? Highly recommended.
